Ballina Camogie Club 2020-1

Ballina has fielded Camogie teams over many decades beginning in the 1940s,witnessing a revival in the 1970s and, consequent to much work being done in the Primary schools in Ballina and Boher in the eighties and nineties, 2007 saw the founding of the Ballina Club as we know it today.

The Club had 170 members in 2020 ranging from under 6 to Minor and adult players. As the Club has grown, teams have achieved success in County competition at under 12,14,Feile,16 and Junior B with the stand out success to date being the Minor A county title win in 2018. Many of the players have represented Tipperary at under age levels and are involved in Development panels including in 2020 ;Sarah O’Flynn,Alana Mc Keogh,Ava Donnelly and Paige Keogh at under 14. In 2020 Aoibheann Ward was chosen as Vice Captain of the Tipperary Minor team, was a member of the Tipperary Intermediate panel and was nominated for the Tipperary Club team of the year.

Ballina Camogie Club offers girls the opportunity to learn fundamental movement skills; to learn the skills of camogie in a safe and inclusive environment; to learn the importance of physical fitness; to be a member of a team and learn about teamwork; to play with friends and make new ones; to represent Ballina Camogie club with pride at all levels.

Training depends on ages .For younger players ,Saturday mornings are popular with a mid week session .Older players 2 to 3 sessions per week + individual fitness work.

Guaranteed a great day’s Camogie ,skills and fun.

The Club wish to encourage all our members ,players and friends to support the upcoming Ballina Euromillions Syndicate fundraiser which will go towards a ball wall and all-weather facility in the Club.Such a facility will be of huge benefit to all our players in terms of skill development and progression.
